National Automobile Club (NAC) was established on February 28, 1924 to assist motorists who were climbing behind the wheel in ever-increasing numbers. Back then, hard surfaced roads were a novelty, vehicle disablements prevalent, flat tires were common place, as well as gas purchased at the general store.

First headquartered in San Francisco, California, National Automobile Club has gradually transformed itself over its 85 years of existence into an established commercial and public fleet assistance dispatching service.

It became apparent during the 1980's that significant opportuntiy existed to service the needs of the commercial marketplace and with its knowledge, experience and available resources, NAC set out on a path to include service to commerical accounts. Doing so, increased volume to contracted service providers as well as made unbundled Emergency Roadside Services available to fleets both private and public, In addition, the early 1990's found insurance comapnies selecting NAC as dispatcher of choice for their stranded policyholders and most currently, starting in 2000, National Automobile became known for its ability to support the special requirements of specialty vehicle OEM's.

NAC is proud to have helped millions of motorists since its humble beginnings. Our emergency dispatch center remains staffed round-the-clock, 365 days of the year. NAC Customers access the center, toll-free from anywhere in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
